Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1Who we are and what this policy covers

Abento Inc. (“Abento”, “we”, “us”) operates https://abento.io and abento.ai. This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on those websites, including. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

This policy covers tracking technologies operated by us and technologies that our approved providers operate on our behalf or through our website. The cookie register in section 10 identifies the technologies actually used, their providers and their purposes. A separate website reached through an external link may have its own cookie policy and settings. Our settings do not control that separate website.

2What cookies and similar technologies do

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. They can support a session, remember a choice or recognize a browser on a later visit. Session cookies normally last for a browsing session, although browser restoration features can affect this. Persistent cookies remain until their stated expiry or until deleted earlier.

First-party cookies are associated with the website domain you visit. Third-party cookies are associated with another domain. The domain alone does not tell you who receives the information or whether consent is needed.

This policy also covers similar technologies where used, such as local storage, tracking pixels, embedded scripts and identifiers. These may store information on your device or send information about interactions to a server. A technology does not become privacy-neutral simply because it is described as “cookie less” or operates through our domain.

3Information involved

Depending on the technology listed in our register, information can include a cookie or device identifier, IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages viewed, interaction events, referral information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and consent preferences. The register specifies which information each technology uses and whether it is linked to other information.

We do not treat information as anonymous merely because your name is absent or an identifier has been hashed. Identifiers can still relate to you or your device.

We do not use optional website tracking to collect passwords, authentication codes, private keys, seed phrases, identity-verification documents or payment-form contents. We do not send identifiable wallet addresses, transaction details or merchant-account activity to advertising or general website analytics providers. Necessary payment, security and legal-compliance processing is addressed separately in our Privacy Policy.

Categories and your choices

4Categories of technology

CategoryPurposeYour Control
Strictly necessaryDeliver a service you request, maintain a secure authenticated session, protect essential functions or remember your consent choiceNot optional in our consent tool when the specific use qualifies as necessary
Optional preferencesRemember non-essential choices or personalize presentation beyond what is needed for the requested serviceOff unless you choose to enable them
AnalyticsUnderstand use of public website pages and evaluate site performance through the tools listed in the registerOff unless you choose to enable them
MarketingMeasure advertising effectiveness or support advertising-related tracking for the specific purposes and providers disclosed in the registerOff unless you choose to enable them
Optional embedded contentLoad external media or other optional features that involve third-party trackingOff until you enable the disclosed purpose or specifically request the feature through its consent control

Only categories and providers actually used on the website appear in Cookie settings. We do not classify a tool as strictly necessary simply because it is commercially useful. Where a feature has both necessary and optional purposes, the optional purpose remains subject to your choice.

5How to choose

When your browser has no valid saved preference, we present a choice before optional tracking begins. Select Accept optional cookies to enable the optional purposes described in the consent panel, Reject optional cookies to keep them off, or Manage settings to choose individual purposes. Optional switches are off by default.

Closing the banner, scrolling or continuing to browse does not give consent. You can continue using the core website and payment services without agreeing to optional analytics or marketing. A specific external feature may remain unavailable until you choose to load it; we explain this at the point of use.

You can return to Cookie settings, turn purposes off and save your revised choice. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not itself close your account or prevent necessary security checks. Consent for cookies is separate from consent to receive marketing emails and from acceptance of service terms.

We save your acceptance or refusal for up to six months in that browser, unless a material change requires a fresh choice sooner. At expiry, optional tracking stays off until you choose again. We do not repeatedly ask you to accept simply because you previously refused.

Choices ordinarily apply to the browser and device in which you make them. Clearing storage, switching browsers or using another device may require a new choice. We do not assume that an account login authorizes optional tracking on another device.

Retention recipients and rights

6What happens when you withdraw

After you save a withdrawal, we stop further optional tracking for the affected purposes and remove relevant cookies or identifiers that our website can control. We communicate your updated choice to relevant providers where required and supported. Some third-party cookies cannot be deleted directly by our website because of browser restrictions; you can also remove them through browser settings. Their presence does not authorize us to continue optional tracking.

Withdrawal does not reverse processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent. It does not automatically erase every record already held. We assess deletion and other rights requests under the applicable law and our Privacy Policy, and retain only records supported by an appropriate purpose and retention period.

7Retention and providers

The cookie register specifies the lifetime of each cookie or similar identifier. This is different from the time information derived from it is held on a server. The register or linked retention notice identifies the corresponding server-side period or meaningful retention criteria, and explains whether a lifetime renews on a later visit.

We keep a limited record of your consent choices to apply them and demonstrate compliance. The record includes the choice, time, relevant purposes, notice version and a browser-related preference identifier. Its approved retention period for cookie consent choice is six months from the moment consent is given. It is not used to build an advertising profile.

Providers are identified in the register with their specific purposes and privacy information. Some act only on our instructions; others may act as separate controllers for identified processing. The register and our Privacy Policy explain the applicable roles and data sharing. Selecting a category is not permission for undisclosed providers or unrelated purposes.

Where information is processed outside your country or outside Québec, the register or linked Privacy Policy identifies relevant destinations and safeguards. Applicable protections may include a recognized adequacy decision or contractual safeguards. You may contact us for information about the safeguards that apply to your information. Cookie consent alone is not a general authorization for unrestricted international transfers.

8Browser controls and privacy requests

Your browser may let you block or delete cookies and other stored data. Blocking necessary technologies can affect login, security or payment functionality. Browser controls supplement the choices provided by our website. We assess browser privacy signals under applicable law.

Depending on the applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, withdraw consent, request deletion, object to processing, restrict processing or receive portable data. These rights are subject to legal conditions. See our Privacy Policy or contact our Privacy Officer at compliance@abento.io, or by mail at 120 Adelaide Street West, Suite 2215, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 1T1, Canada.

9Changes

We update this policy and its register when our practices change. A policy update does not itself create consent. If a new purpose or material change needs renewed consent, we obtain it before activating the affected optional technology.
